Deluxe Chocolate Brownies recipe


These chocolate brownies are crunchy on top, and gooey in the middle! Yum yum!!!




Ingredients :


75g (3oz) self-raising flour
15g (1/2oz) cocoa powder
a pinch of salt
50g (2oz) margarine
175g (6oz) light muscovado sugar
1 tablespoon water
100g (4oz) plain chocolate chopped into pieces
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 eggs

Method :



  1. Pre-heat oven to gas 3,160'C
  2. Grease and line an 18cm square tin
  3. Put margarine, sugar and water in a saucepan, and melt over a low heat - do not boil
  4. Remove from heat and mix in chocolate pieces and vanilla essence, stirring all the time
  5. Beat in the eggs
  6. Sieve the flour and cocoa into the pan and beat the mixture until smooth and glossy
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, until firm to touch
  9. Leave in tin to cool
  10. Remove from tin and cut into 9 squares
  11. Enjoy!!!

Tips:
- Heat them in the microwave for 5-10 seconds and add a dollop of fresh cream or ice-cream
- Presentation, stack them in a pyramid and sprinkle lightly with icing powder over the pyramid of Deluxe Chocolate Brownies
- Add a small handful of nuts to the mixture before baking/ add nuts on top of the mixture before baking/ add nuts on top of the Deluxe Chocolate Brownies after they've been cooked.
